Amended Enforceable Obligation Payment Schedule

On September 27, 2011, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 76010 and the Agency Board adopted Resolution No. 6030, amending the Enforceable Obligation Payment Schedule to update the obligations of the Redevelopment Agency and the City of San Jose as it relates to the Low and Moderate Income Housing Fund in order to comply with the provisions of Section 34169 of the Health and Safety Code.


Enforceable Obligation Payment Schedule

Pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 34169, the City Council and Agency Board adopted an Enforceable Obligation Payment Schedule that lists all of the obligations that are enforceable under AB X1 26. On August 23, 2011, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 75969, and the Agency Board adopted Resolution No. 6029:

In the past few years, redevelopment agencies throughout the State of California have been forced to turn over a combined total of $2.05 billion in local property taxes to fund the State’s budget demands.  In the last 12 months alone, San Jose had to send $75 million of local property taxes to the State, leaving City and Redevelopment Agency critical projects and programs unfunded.  Now, in spite of the voters approving Proposition 22 just last November, which said that the state had to stop taking property taxes, the state is again trying to take even more local money from San Jose.
